Virtual attendees will receive a $30 DoorDash electronic voucher to use and enjoy during the conference or anytime. Member organizations are any Healthcare providers in BCThe member registration rate is applied if you are an employee of a Health Care Provider in BC (publicly funded healthcare services) including Acute, Residential, Community, Mental Health Affiliate member; employed by the Minister of Health; or by an organization providing services to the health care industry. If you are an employee of a BC Health Authority, Providence Health Care or BC Ministry of Health, registration fees can be invoiced to the applicable organization. Select "Group Bill" on the registration form. Cancellation/RefundsRequest for refunds must be received in writing at aqi@phsa.ca as soon as possible. Requests received on or before August 20, 2024 will be refunded in full, less $50 (Canadian) administrative fee. No refunds after September 3, 2024. Changes and substitutions cannot be accommodated after September 3, 2024. Inspired by the TV game show, Win it in A Minute is full of excitement and nail-biting moments as teams battle it out in various and bizarre 60 second challenges. As facilitators reveal each challenge, teams consult among themselves and decide which team member is best suited for the task. Throughout the program facilitators update the points board to let teams know their position. Both in person and virtual teams will play together at the same time for the most integrative, networking experience at the conference! Please select “yes” for the networking activity on the registration form to participate. For Virtual attendees only, you will need to gather the items from the event kit listed below and have them close at hand on the day of the conference when the networking activity takes place, Thursday Sept 12th, at 10:45am.

Computer LabsFrank Byl Certified Microsoft Master Instructor Frank has helped thousands of clients to hone their computer skills. He has previously taught OneNote as well as Excel classes at previous BCFHPS Conferences. Network with other professionals and learn tricks to maximize your and your employer's productivity + systems. NOTE ABOUT BRINGING YOUR OWN LAPTOP FOR IN PERSON ATTENDEES: New this year, you will be required to bring your own laptop to class. The following presentations will be made using the Windows version of Office 365. To ensure you have the best experience possible you should be running Office 2019 or Office 365 and should make sure you have recently completed an office update. In most cases Office 2016 will still work but there will be some lack of functionality, though you will still be able to participate in most of the exercises. Macs are entirely not supported or recommended. NOTE ABOUT CONNECTING REMOTELY: Participants connecting remotely should have two monitors or two devices, so that they can watch on one screen and practice on the second screen. The second device must be a tablet or another computer, a phone will not be sufficient. A link to download any required files will be provided prior to the workshop and at the start of the workshop. Join Frank in these computer lab sessions: Computer Lab 1d: Excel CoreSept 12, 1pm - 2:45pm Everyone can benefit from working through key skills that they will use every day to do things faster and better. A host of keyboard shortcuts and surprising “hidden” secrets in Excel that will make anyone more efficient. Limited to 35 people on-site and no limit for remote participants. Please take the Excel Self Assessment to see if you should attend Core (less than 50) or Expert (greater than 50). Computer Lab 2d: Excel ExpertSept 12, 3:15pm - 5pm You should have a score of 50 or better in the Excel Self Assessment to attend this. Learn to work with sets of data to first sort and filter data to show a subset of data in meaningful ways. Secondly, the complete data set will be summarized into pivot tables. The five key settings that need to be implemented in each Pivot Table and how to create multiple reports from the same data set. Finally, learn to apply filters to the newly summarized data and share the reports without having to share the entire file and underlying data. Limited to 35 people on-site and no limit for remote participants. Computer Demo: Using Sharepoint and Microsoft TeamsSept 13, 10:30 - 11:30am A third session would be a one-hour interactive demonstration of the collaborative opportunities presented by SharePoint and MS Teams. The presentation will include two separate screens and Frank will interact with another instructor to work through various typical workday scenarios and how Teams and SharePoint can dramatically improve functionality and efficiency. The two presenters will do some role play and take questions and ideas from the audience to show how these tools can change the way work is done. (This is not a lab). |
